I've been using eye masks more and more to rejuvenate my tired 53-year-old eyes (soon to be 54!) in the mornings. I love how they smooth out any sleep-induced wrinkles and hydrate and brighten my undereye area. The ones I used previously contained some undesirable ingredients that I didn't want absorbed into my skin or near my sensitive eyes. I've been searching for alternatives that work well without harmful chemicals and finally found some I love. Below are four options that are free of allergens, carcinogens, and endocrine disruptors. I use the Yuka App to check for toxins in my beauty products, and these all pass with flying colors!

Grace & Stella Moisturizing Eye Masks are a new discovery for me! They are a small, clean beauty brand from Canada, and you can find them on Amazon! These eye patches feel like a drink of water for your eyes. They are very hydrating and feel cooling on, which is nice. I love that they are in individual packs, so they are easy to travel with. I also love the price of these!
I was surprised to find out that Sephora made a great, natural eye mask! I have only tried the De-puffing and I really like it. These are also great for travel with the single application packaging. These are more expensive than the other two brands so I am getting a few more of while the Sephora sale is on!
Three Ships is another new brand for me. They are also a Canadian company, and they are passionate about using all-natural, vegan-friendly, and sustainably sourced ingredients that are clinically proven to work. They are very transparent about where their ingredients come from and mention in their FAQs that the eye masks are made in South Korea. I love that their eye masks are actually biodegradable! I will definitely be re-stocking these... I really like them, and the price is better than many I have tried.
A few tips on using eye patches...
Store them in the fridge! A chilled eye mask is even more effective at reducing puffiness, and they feel so nice on!
Make sure they don't have too much serum on them, or they will slide all over the place. I like to wipe a little off on the container, and then if they are still a little slippery, I will pat some of the excess serum around my eye and reapply. You may have to adjust a couple of times, but then they will adhere and sit in the right place.
The longer you wear them, the more they smooth out your lines! I will put them on when I get up and then go about my morning routine and drink my matcha. I have them on for 30 minutes to an hour sometimes! If you only have 10 minutes to wear them, that is better than nothing!
