My Favorite Protein Powders

In my never-ending quest to get more protein into my diet on a daily basis, I have tried several protein powders over the past few years. I personally like an unflavored protein powder that I can add to smoothies, yogurt bowls, or baked goods. I don't care for the stevia/monk fruit aftertaste, so I look for protein powders without it. I also look for thoughtfully sourced, organic ingredients, NO "natural flavors," and NO gums, thickeners, or stabilizers. And... it has to blend well, digest well, and taste good!
My 3 favorites check all of the boxes for me, and I actually use all 3 regularly. I like having different protein sources to mix things up a bit, especially since I incorporate them into my diet almost every day. I also like that I can double up 2 different proteins in one smoothie for a little extra boost if I need it.
Here are my current favorites...

Crucial Four mProtein with Grass-Fed A2 Goat Whey and Bovine Collagen
I am on my third bag of this whey protein and I love it! A2 goat whey is much easier for me to digest than cow's whey, and I don't get any bloating or discomfort after using it like I have with other whey protein powders. Plus, nutrient-rich goat whey is packed with essential vitamins and minerals. In case you are wondering, it doesn't taste like you are drinking goat milk... it may have a slightly more tart taste than cow's whey, but it is barely noticeable. Crucial Four's whey is also enriched with collagen peptides, which further support digestive health as well as joints and skin. I love that it is made with the cleanest ingredients and is also third-party tested. I use their unflavored version, but I have tried the vanilla, and it is delicious! I just prefer my smoothies to be less sweet. Combining the unflavored with fruit is enough sweetness for me. One serving of Crucial Four mProtein has 120 calories and 22 grams of protein. It mixes beautifully in a smoothie.

Don't let the name fool you...this doesn't taste like bone broth. This protein powder is so versatile! It blends easily stirred into my yogurt or cottage cheese and you can't taste it. I think it actually blends better than any other protein powder I have tried. If you are avoiding whey, this is a great substitute. It is also a great option for those wanting more collagen in their diet. It meets all of my requirements...organic, clean & simple ingredients, good for my gut (collagen!), and third party tested. I have not tried the flavored versions but I will always have the unflavored on hand. One scoop gives you 20 grams of protein and is 120 calories.

I tried several vegan protein powders in the past and decided they weren't for me because I didn't care for the taste or texture. Well, that is not so with Ora's protein powder. It is the first plant-based protein powder that I have truly enjoyed. It is actually created by a chef and has 18 organic superfoods. I don't get any digestive issues or bloating, thanks to the added digestive enzymes. I don't think that plant-based protein powders blend quite as well as whey, but this one is definitely better than some others that I have tried. I prefer to use Ora's protein blended into my smoothies or added to baked goods. I made Ora's Peanut Butter Protein Balls and they were delicious! I actually used the unsweetened/unflavored protein powder and added my own vanilla and a bit of date sugar. One serving is 120 calories and 23 grams of protein. Ora's ingredients are organic, non-GMO, and third-party tested.
